demure grandeur

Originally designed as a spec house by architect James Schettino, the home's interiors were dramatically transformed by the current homeowners, who bought the property soon after the house was built. Styled after the distinctive asymmetrical Colonial Revival facades popular in the 1930's, the exterior is highlighted by multipane double-hung windows, cornice detailing, and a classic portico over the mahogany front entrance door. Intriguing rooflines with Gothic dormers in the attic and a lantern cupola add further drama, as do several bay windows on the front and back exterior....
