As the founder of James Schettino Architects, Jim brings to the firm over 35 years of experience in the field of architecture and has spent the majority of that time specializing in the area of custom residences. He is passionate about the traditional language of architecture and classical designs. Jim draws inspiration from the influential works of early 20th century architects such as the shingle style homes of Mckim, Mead & White, the country houses of David Adler and the english tudor estate homes of Lewis Bowman. For Jim, each project represents a unique opportunity to blend the time-honored principals of traditional design with the dreams, wishes and modern lifestyles of the client today.

James joined the firm in January of 2009 after having spent six years living and working as an architect in San Diego, California. While in San Diego working with Allard Jansen Architects, inc. James was responsible for the design and development of numerous custom residences ranging from Mediterranean/Spanish Colonial style courtyard houses to modern beach houses. James’s experience also includes medium density residential developments, mixed use and urban infill projects. James believes great architecture is a result of a collaborative effort… “Landscaping, lighting, interior finishes, room furnishings… all these elements are necessary in making great buildings.”
